On July 29, Song Zhiping, Chairman of China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM), met with Michael Charlton, British Minister-Counsellor in China and Director General of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) in China, at the headquarters of CNBM. The two sides exchanged their ideas on CNBM's business development and planning, such as new energy and new housing in the UK, the business cooperation in the UK, as well as other issues.

Song welcomed Charlton, thanking the British Embassy in China and UKTI for their long-term support to CNBM. He introduced CNBM's businesses such as building materials manufacturing, R & D and logistics. As the world's largest building materials manufacturer, CNBM has been ranked among Fortune Global 500 for six consecutive years, and CNBM's businesses such as new energy and new housing have made great progress in the UK, said him. He stressed that Chinese and British enterprises are facing good development opportunities, the two sides should employ respective advantages to carry out in-depth and extensive cooperation, and the cooperation between the two sides should not be limited to bilateral cooperation only but cover the joint development of third-party markets.

Charlton spoke highly of CNBM's achievements in its projects in the UK. He is delighted to provide necessary support for CNBM's operations in the UK. The UK is still a hot destination for global investment, and the British government will keep an open environment for business cooperation, will not change its fundamental principles for investors, and will remain determined to build more housing for people. Green town and new energy are good concepts, said Charlton, expecting the two sides to further deepen bilateral cooperation to create more successful models for future cooperation.
